Lightning in a Bottle dropped their 2026 lineup early this year, with the event’s organizers presenting a major bill for the fest this May.

Leading the lineup are art electronic legends Empire of the Sun, Dutch phenom Mau P (whose August track “Tesla” is currently at No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay), hard techno arbiter Sara Landry, bass OGs Zeds Dead, UK D&B legends Chase & Status, R&B queen Tinashe, UK fav Barry Can’t Swim and Brazilian whirlwind Mochakk.

Beyond that, the bill features Of the Trees, Billboard’s September Dance Rookie of the Month Jigitz, Overmono, Daily Bread, Lee Burrdige, Hot Since 92, Nia Archives, Dimension, Alleycvt, Jayda G, and many more. See the complete lineup below, with this lineup poster’s design nodding to the festival’s longstanding Mixtape stage, where DJs play classic cuts on cassette all weekend long.

Additionally, after first collabing with legendary L.A. club night A Club Called Rhonda last year, the party will be back for another takeover at the Crossroads Stage, with the longstanding D&B party Respect DnB, the party Baile World and afrobeat/amapiano/dancehall party FMLY BZNS all also hosting nights at Crossroads. LiB will also, as always, host myriad talks, workshops and yoga sessions over the weekend.

Lightning in a Bottle 2026 will mark the 23rd edition of the independent festival. It happens over Memorial Day weekend, May 20-24, 2026 at Buena Vista Lake near Bakersfield, Calif.

Tickets for for the fest go on sale on Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. PT.

Modern parents know all too well how difficult it can be to tear their kids and their tablets apart — and that’s exactly what the new Toy Story 5 teaser (soundtracked by INXS) touches on.

In a 50-second preview released by Pixar on Tuesday (Nov. 11), Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Potato Head and more of the franchise’s beloved toy characters tremble in fear as a frog-shaped tablet — named “Lilypad” — enters their household. Voiced by Greta Lee, the new piece of technology will make the “gang’s jobs exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime,” according to a description.

The teaser also features the 1988 INXS hit “Never Tear Us Apart,” which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song’s romantic lyrics take on an eerie new meaning in the context of the movie premise, with the refrain — “Two worlds collided/ And they could never tear us apart” — now serving to reflect how parents are becoming increasingly reliant on screens for their children’s entertainment, creating what some people are calling a generation of “iPad kids.”

We certainly live in a very different world than we did back when the first Toy Story premiered in 1995, long before the age of cellphones and tablets. Back then, toys such as Woody and Buzz only had each other to compete with for their kiddos’ attention, as was the plot of the original film.

The Toy Story franchise — which stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as the lead voice actors — quickly expanded in 1999 with a sequel, which Pixar followed up with Toy Story 3 in 2010 and Toy Story 4 in 2019. Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters on June 19, 2026.

Check out the new teaser for Toy Story 5 below.

There were also be a variety of artists that you don’t want to miss. See the full lineup here and below.

Beyond the critical acclaim and handy sales boost, the U.K.’s Mercury Prize comes with an added bonus: a £25,000 ($32,000) cash prize for the chosen artist. For some previous winners – like Alt-J (2012) and Antony and The Johnsons (2015) – the money has covered the expenses of being a touring act, while Badly Drawn Boy (2000) infamously threw the cheque away in the heat of the winning moment (his cash prize was ultimately honored).

Now Sam Fender has joined a number of past winners by making a statement and donating the entirety of the cash prize to charity. The Music Venue Trust, a charity that supports grassroots music spaces and the scene as a whole, will be the beneficiary of Fender’s generosity. Fender joins previous winners such as Ms. Dynamite (2002) and M People (1994) who have made public that they donated their cash winnings to causes close to their hearts.

Fender was awarded the Mercury Prize, an annual prize for an outstanding LP by a British or Irish artist, in his hometown Newcastle upon Tyne, England (Oct. 16). His third studio album People Watching saw off competition from Fontaines D.C., Pulp, FKA twigs, PinkPantheress and more at the ceremony which was held outside of London for the first time in its history.

People Watching remains the fastest-selling British album of 2025, and on Saturday (Nov. 15) a live concert film shot at his 80,000-capacity London Stadium show will be broadcast on YouTube. A deluxe edition of the album features collaborations with Olivia Dean and Elton John, and is set for release on Dec. 5.

The Music Venue Trust works to protect and secure the future of grassroots venues across the country. In 2024 a report by the charity shared that grassroots music venues operated on a profit margin of just 0.48%, with 43.8% of them reporting a loss. In 2024 alone, 25 music venues closed in the U.K. due to rising costs for venues and changing consumer habits.

“I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing today if it wasn’t for all the gigs I played around the North East, and beyond, when I was starting out,” Fender said about the reasons for the donation. “These venues are legendary, but they are struggling.”

Fender has worked previously with the MVT, most recently donating £100,000 from his 2024 U.K. arena tour via a voluntary £1 ticket levy. He joins acts such as Katy Perry, The Last Dinner Party and Enter Shikari in making the commitment; Coldplay pledged 10% of all revenue from the U.K. leg of the Music of The Spheres tour to the MVT.

Mark Davyd, chief executive and founder of the Music Venue Trust, said, “This is an incredible gesture by Sam, demonstrating once again that artists absolutely understand how vital grassroots music venues are to their careers and to their communities. We are honored to accept this donation and will ensure every penny of it makes a direct difference to the campaign to keep live music at the heart of our towns and cities.”

“Weird Al” Yankovic, actor and SNL alum Will Forte, and Ted Lasso stars Cristo Fernández and Brendan Hunt helped Jason Sudeikis raise $1.1 million at the ninth annual THUNDERGONG! charity concert by performing two monster Billboard Hot 100 hits. And we’ve got videos.

Sudeikis and his longtime friend Billy Brimblecom, the executive director of the Steps of Faith Foundation, produced the concert, which took place at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri, on Nov. 8 and supported the nonprofit’s mission to provide prosthetic car and comfort to amputees needing financial support.

Yankovic and Forte performed Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” — which topped Billboard‘s Pop Airplay chart and hit No. 5 on the Hot 100.

Weird Al and Forte were then joined by Fernández, who played Dani Rojas on Ted Lasso, and Brendan Hunt, who co-created the hit Apple TV+ series and starred as Coach Beard, to put their own spin on “Soda Pop,” Saja Boys’ big number in the Netflix animated hit KPop Demon Hunters. That tune also reached No. 5 on the Hot 100.

Music artists Waxahatchee, Kevin Morby and actor/comedian Sam Richardson also took part.

Sudeikis and Brimblecom founded THUNDERGONG! in 2017, and the event has since produced a number of viral videos. In 2023, Sudeikis and Ted Lasso castmate Hannah Waddingham sang Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga‘s “Shallow” duet from A Star Is Born, and last year, Yankovic and Forte covered another Roan hit, “Hot to Go.”

Steps of Faith will post more videos on its YouTube page in the coming days.
